Follow the footsteps of Genius Picasso in his birth town Málaga
There are many Picasso Museums in the world, of course! As Picasso claimed "give me a museum, and I will fill it" all of them are extremely interesting. What makes our Picasso route special, is that there is only one birthplace and it is here, in Malaga, at Plaza de la Merced. Here is where the history of this artist started. The museum shows mainly the ambience in which he was born, as son to a painter and teacher at the Fine Arts School in Malaga by the time. It is a wonderful first approach to Picasso's childhood.
Along the historical district of Malaga we follow the footsteps of the child Picasso to his primary school in St. Augustin street, where his father had his workshop just across the street. Then we will visit the Picasso Museum Malaga MPM, inaugurated in 2003 and performing art works of Picasso from 1884 (aged 13!) to 1972 (aged 91!), which is an outstanding occasion to discover his destress in drawings, paintings, engravings, linocuts, sculptures, collages, assemblages, and meeting the most important muses of his life.
I am personally a fan of Picasso, and enjoy "reading" his work with you. We need approximately 3 hours for the entire visit. Our meeting point is to be determined.
In case you wish a shorter tour, or just simply a visit to the Museum, please contact me as the tour can be customized to your needs and preferences. The audio system for easy listening is included.
